Physical Examinations – We perform complete “Nose to Tail” exams on all pets to thoroughly evaluate both general health status, and to identify any specific ailments or disorders.  We place a lot of emphasis on educating our clients of our findings and presenting detailed treatment plans to help solve problems.

 

Lifestage Wellness Advice – Starting with Kitten and Puppy Education, we make lifestyle recommendations tailored to the individual pet.  For the adult and senior pets our Wellness Program helps to identify any metabolic changes or age-related concerns early when disease is most effectively treated.

 

Diagnostics – We provide comprehensive diagnostic services by using our in-house laboratory and equipment by our trained doctors and staff, as well as by using a leading national veterinary laboratory.  Health tests are always changing.  We work hard to offer the most useful tests for your pet.

Anesthesia – Patients are constantly monitored through the entire procedure including recovery with an anesthetic plan tailored for the pet’s specific procedure and individual medical needs.  We employ balanced anesthesia techniques in order to calm our patients, minimize pain, and maximize patient safety.  We emphasize prevention of pain by using pain medications prior, during, and after surgery and by using multiple pain medications that target different pain pathways.  

Surgery – We offer a wide range of soft-tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures for both elective and more critical needs.  

We will answer your questions and describe your pet’s surgical procedure and expectations for healing and recovery.

 

Dentistry – In all that we do, our goal is for your pet to have a pain-free and disease-free mouth.  Our well equipped dental suite helps us to provide modern prophylactic cleanings and disease prevention as well as advanced dental disease diagnosis and treatment.  We utilize a stepwise approach for every patient called the Oral ATP (Assessment, Treatment, and Prevention of disease).

 

Assessment – Thorough oral evaluation before and during anesthesia, including detailed dental charting and x-ray imaging.

Treatment – Includes gross calculus removal, subgingival (below the gumline) cleaning, tooth polishing, irrigation, fluoride application, and OraVet™ (Pro) plaque barrier application.  Therapeutic extractions, restorations, and gingival surgeries may be needed depending on the disease present.

Prevention – Always tailored for the individual patient, we will discuss the best approach for long term oral health and comfort.  We will help you understand which home care methods and products are best.

 

Vaccinations – We want to provide your pet with the best protection against serious infectious diseases.  We will discuss our specific recommendations based on age, general health, lifestyle and risks of infection to help you make informed choices.  Throughout your pet’s life these factors will change, vaccine technology will change, and we will reevaluate the best strategy for your pet.

 

Pharmacy – Our on-site pharmacy makes for speedy preparation of a wide range of prescription medications and non-prescription products.  We can also mail products directly from our hospital to your home or business.  

 

Nutritional Advice – We encourage your questions about this very important aspect of your pet’s care.  We strive to recommend diets and feeding schedules that will help promote a healthy lifestyle.

 

Behavior Consultation – For those challenging situations that complicate sharing your home and life with your pet, we offer consultations to help identify solutions or to establish a plan for improvement.

 

Reminders – We periodically send out reminders for important preventive care recommendations utilizing the Healthy Pet magazine.

 

Referral – At times, an animal may require specialized care or advice.  We utilize computer and phone consultations in addition to direct referrals to specialists and overnight emergency hospitals where needed.
